Former Minister of Transport, Mrs Dzifa Aku Attivor, has urged the staff of the Ministry to give Mr Fifi Kwettey, her successor, the needed support to enable him be effective in his duties.
She said work remains to be done in the aviation, airlines, marine and the rail sectors for the improvement of the transport sector.
Addressing an official handing over ceremony, Mrs Attivor, urged the staff to work extra hard to make the Transport Ministry the most admirable Ministry.
Mr Kwettey on his part commended the former Minister for her hard work and contribution towards improving the transport sector.
He praised Mrs Joyce Mogtar Bawa, the Deputy Minister of Transport, the directors and the staff of the Transport Ministry for backing the former minister.
Mr Kwettey said the Transport Ministry was one of the most important Ministries ‘in this electioneering year’, and therefore there’s the need for the staff to work hard for Ghanaians to appreciate their work.
He asked them for their cooperation to ensure that Ghana’s transport sector remains one of the best in West Africa.
Mrs Mogtar Bawa expressed her appreciation to Mrs Attivor for her work during her tenure as Minister of Transport.
Mrs Attivor resigned from her position in the wake of the controversy over the cost of the branding of the new metro buses.
