Medeama drag Raja Casablanca to Fifa

Ghana Premier League side Medeama SC have filed a complaint at Fifa against Moroccan club Raja Casablanca over an ‘unpaid transfer fee’ involving striker Nathaniel Asamoah.
The 25-year-old joined the Green Eagles in a three-year deal after his splendid campaign in Ghana last season, scoring 18 goals but failed to replicate that form at Raja, leading to his premature exit from the club.
In a statement released this week, Raja said they had parted ways with Asamoah on mutual consent and that no fee was left to be paid to his former club Medeama.
However, the Ghanaian side maintains that part of the deal was not honoured by the North Africans.
“The matter is currently before the world’s football governing body,” Moses Armah said.
“We had a contract with them but unfortunately as we speak they have not honoured part of the agreement.
“We have tried several times but nothing concrete has come out of it therefore we have been forced to drag them to Fifa,” he added.
Asamoah played six matches with Raja – four league games and two cup games- scoring one goal.
