Judge Azonto with Reggie ‘N’ Bollie

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini couldn’t wipe the smile from her face when she got on stage to dance with her sprightly act Reggie ‘N’ Bollie during Saturday night’s The X Factor.
But while she might have been having the time of her life on stage, she has come under fire for crashing her contestants’ performance, with many slamming her for stealing her act’s thunder.
Performing a mash up of Taio Cruz’s Dynamite with Fuse ODG’s Azonto, the aspiring singers had an excitable Cheryl out of her seat on the judging panel and dancing over to join them.
Her decision clearly left co-judge Simon Cowell unimpressed as he suggested her actions were a sign that she favoured the group, griping: “I didn’t see you getting on stage with 4th Impact.”
But the music mogul wasn’t alone in his opinion, as many viewers slammed the Call My Name hit maker for getting up on stage.
Some accused the starlet of being intoxicated, while others went as far as to compare her to a drunken auntie or mother at a party.
“#Cheryl needs to stop trying to be cool, she is like the drunk aunt at a wedding who tries to dance with the young kids #XFactor,” one Twitter user wrote.
“It’s like when your mum is drunk and they just love you,” quipped another, though some were blunter in their approach as one girl tweeted: “Was #Cheryl under the influence tonight? #XFactor.”
Others criticised the star for overshadowing her act as she took centre stage.
“#Cheryl really does need to remove that chip on her shoulder. Her ego and attitude won’t fit in the #XFactor studio at this rate,” one viewer blasted, while others cringed at her attempt to recreate the dance move.
“Did Cheryl just Azonto !! OMG what has XFactor become, (sic),” winced one watcher.
But there were those who championed Cheryl’s decision to let her hair down and have fun with her act, particularly former X Factor contestant and Sax songstress Fleur East.
“YES!!! @ReggieNBollie you NEVER let me down!! I love that @CherylOfficial did the azonto with them! I LOVED it!” she enthused on the social network.
