German music group to thrill fans in Ghana

A performance by the German group Deep Schrott, the only all-bass saxophone quartet in the world, will on Wednesday, November 18 take place at the Goethe-Institut in Accra.
Comprising Andreas Kaling, Wollie Kaiser, Jan Klare and Dirk Raulf, who are internationally well-known as instrumentalists and composers, the group will also engage in a jam session with some Ghanaian saxophonists like Sax Borsah, Felix Arhin, Moses Batintora, Elorm Akorlor and Clement Cudjoe.
Deep Schrott has devoted themselves exclusively to the tonal and technical possibilities of the bass saxophone. On the one hand, the group is literally heavy metal while on the other hand they build a subtle, highly sensitive ensemble operating on the edge of silence.
Indeed, Kaiser, Kaling, Klare and Raulf are not only saxophone virtuosos, but also profound composers. They have swayed audiences with brute riffs, heavyweight grooves and aggressive improvisations that have been complemented by light melodies.
