Ancelotti confirms he’s ready to replace Mourinho at Chelsea
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed he’s ready to take charge of Chelsea if Jose Mourinho leaves.
The Italian has been linked with replacing under-fire Mourinho in the Stamford Bridge hot seat over the last few weeks.
And Ancelotti, who won both the Premier League and FA Cup with Chelsea in a previous spell in charge, says he’s ready to return.
‘I would have no problem with Chelsea,’ he told the Daily Mail said when asked about a return.
‘I would like to come back to work in England. I love the football here.
‘I still have a house in London, and I would like to be with a team that is competitive in England and in Europe.’
Despite those comments, he’s not expecting Mourinho to be sacked.
‘Jose won’t be sacked,’ he added.
‘They already choose to keep him, and I think they made a good choice.’
Mourinho has overseen a disastrous start to Chelsea’s season, which currently sees the club in 16th place in the Premier League, after losing seven of their first 12 matches.
