Pauleta urges Ronaldo to join PSG

The former Portugal international feels his compatriot, who has been linked to Manchester United and Ligue 1, should make Parc des Princes his next home
Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo should join PSG, says club legend Pauleta.
Ronaldo recently broke Raul’s goalscoring record at Madrid, notching 326 goals in all competitions, but has been linked with a move away from the La Liga giants after seven seasons with the club.
The 30-year-old is tied down to the Santiago Bernabeu until 2018, although has been non-committal on his future at the club, and his fellow countryman feels a move to France would suit him next.
He told Radio Marca: “PSG deserves to have a player of Cristiano Ronaldo’s quality. It would be a good place for him to play for two or three seasons.”
Pauleta has seen Ronaldo surpass his goalscoring record of 49 for Portugal and also saw PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic overtake his all-time club-record haul of 109 for the French club this year.
But when asked who he considers to be the better player, he firmly backed his compatriot.
He said: “My preference is for Cristiano; he’s my country’s captain.”
Madrid host PSG in a vital fixture in the Champions League on Tuesday night with the pair sitting joint-top of Group A on seven points.
