Ex-Chelsea striker handed 14-month prison sentence for breaking waiter’s nose

Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu has been given a 14 month suspended prison sentence for an incident in a club that saw him break a waiter’s nose.
The Romanian, who was one of the first signings of the Roman Abramovich era at Stamford Bridge, has also been ordered to pay a £10,000 fine for the incident, which dates back to 2010.
Mutu was with Fiorentina at the time, and got into a fight with a waiter when asked to settle a bar tab, the Daily Mirror reports.
The 36-year-old has had a career clouded by controversy, having been sacked by Chelsea in 2004, and having also served a lengthy ban after testing positive for cocaine.
