Starbow plane crashes through runway barricade

Terrified passengers on a Starbow flight from Accra to Tamale were disembarked hurriedly to safety after the flight, S9110, crashed through the barricade of the runway, Tuesday morning.
Starbow’s Chief Executive officer, James Eric Antwi, confirmed the “minor incident” in a statement on Tuesday. The statement said the BAe aircraft with registration 9GSBB, went through the barricade at the end of the Tamale Runway and stopped.
The company said both the passengers and crew were disembarked safely via the stairs.
The statement further said “Our sincere concern goes out to all the passengers, friends and families involved. We are still gathering the facts concerning the incident. Starbow is cooperating fully with the authorities in charge. For any enquiry we have our toll free number 0245-000000”. In October 2014, two people were injured after a Takoradi bound Starbow aircraft made an emergency landing. Starbow was named the 2015 domestic airline of the year by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG), after picking the award also in 2014.
