Ghana's cocoa best in the world- COCOBOD

The Ghana Cocoa Board in its celebration of the World Cocoa Day has reiterated that Ghana’s cocoa beans was the best on the world market due to its quality.
The  Board is hosting this year’s Cocoa Day celebration at Akim-Tafo in the Eastern Region where the spotlight is on how to attract the youth to participate in cocoa farming.
The event is on the theme: “Sustainable Cocoa Production, the Role of the Youth.”
Public Affairs Manager of Cocobod, Mr Noah Amenyah, in an interview with Kapital Business, revealed that, though “Ghana is the second largest producer of cocoa on the world market, Ghana’s cocoa tops in terms of quality.”
According to him, the country’s cocoa attracts the highest premiums on the world market due to its quality.
Mr. Amenyah therefore acknowledged the cocoa farmers for enabling the Cocobod attain an amount of 1.8billion dollars for the country through their toil.
He encouraged cocoa farmers to extensively work hard for the sector since the cocoa farming option came with a ready market where their produce would be quickly purchased.
Mr. Noah also encouraged the youth to desist from indulging in illegal mining and rather join in the cocoa industry which he says needs more youth indulgence.
