Torrential rains displaces hundreds in E/R, properties destroyed
Over 300 residents in the New Juaben municipality in the Eastern region have been displaced following torrential rains.
Several homes have been flooded and several properties also destroyed.
Officials of the National Disaster Management Organization have visited the affected areas to assess the extent of damage.
Eastern Regional NADMO Coordinator, Randsford Owusu Boakye in an interview said relief items are yet to be supplied to the victims.
Starr News’ Eastern regional correspondent Kojo Ansah said hundreds of residents have been perching with neighbours and family members in near-by towns since Wednesday.
According to him, a hospital and a hotel have also been submerged.
