10 Dropped From NDC Contest

At least Ten (10) National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirants from various constituencies in the Northern Region have been left out of the party’s November 7 primaries in the region.
Out of the total number of affected persons, three including Mohammed Kamal Abubakari from Karaga, Gmayi Tamanj Ben from Bimbilla, and Ali Joseph Lachi from Bunkpurugu constituencieswere disqualified out rightly. It has been established that their disqualification was based on the grounds that Mohammed Kamal Abubakari and Ali Joseph Lachir are in court with the party against the dictates of its constitution while Gmayi Tamanj Ben could not prove his membership in the party.
Seven aspirants as announced by the leadership of the vetting committee withdrew from the contest for various unexplained reasons and have since declared their support for candidates who have been cleared by the vetting committee.
Among them  are Ali Mohammed  from Yagaba-Kubori ,Mumuni Abdul-Hamid from Salaga North, Hajia Mary Nakobu from Chereponi , Issifu Suleman Frinjei  also from Chereponi Alfred Donkor from Kpandia, Jagri Bagyepu Bernard and Noah Megma Shei from Bimbilla.
Meanwhile the vetting of aspirants for the Bunkpurugu constituency has been put on hold as a result of a petition that was presented to the committee to disqualify some five aspirants.
Officials of the party disclosed that the suspension of the vetting of aspirants in the area is to enable the committee conduct further investigations into the merit of the claims of the petitioners or otherwise.
