Benson Ntsukpui elected as new GBA president

Private Legal Practitioner, Benson Ntsukpui has been elected as the new President of the Ghana Bar Association. He was elected after a keenly contested election at the association’s congress in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. Benson Ntsukpui beat his closest rivals Felix Ntrakwa and Bennet Wilson to win the Presidency. Benson Ntsukpui who has held various positions at the GBA also served as Secretary to the Association in 2007. In his acceptance speech, Benson Ntsukpui promised to address the many issues that is setting back the progress of the bar association.
The Association also elected immediate past Public Relation Officer Anthony Folson as its Vice President and Yaa Onyameye as its new PRO. In a related development, no one contested the bar secretary position . The position of  bar secretary which is currently being occupied by Justin Amenuvor and believed to be one of the powerful positions in the association did not have any member filing to contest alongside the positions of assistant secretary and treasurer. The situation left members with only three positions to vote for namely President, Vice President and Public Relations Officer.
