Glitz Style Awards for October

GLITZ Africa, publishers of Glitz Africa Magazine and creators of the Glitz Africa Fashion Week have added another feather to their cap with the announcement of the Glitz Style Awards.
The awards which will come off in October is established to celebrate and recognise true inspirational creativity, success and contributions to the fashion and style industry in Ghana annually.
The strategic focus of the awards is to strengthen the growing Ghana fashion industry through development, promotion and setting international industry standard. According to the organisers, the event is an opportunity for the fashion industry to celebrate and promote the extraordinary creative talents in Ghana and Africa as a whole.
The ceremony will be a Glitz Africa big night out to see the best of the Ghanaian and international fashion industries joined by a glamorous line-up of guests and presenters.
The glamorous evening will see awards presented to leading figures in fashion, recognising creative talent and design excellence across all areas of the industry and attended by retailers, models, celebrities and the media. Some of the categories in the awards scheme include are Designer of the Year, Emerging Designer of the Year, Red Carpet Designer Award, Best Dressed Celebrity on Red Carpet, Model of the Year, Accessory Designer/ Brand of the Year and Glitz Africa Magazine Style Icon Award.
Others are Stylish Music Artiste of the Year, Stylish TV Personality of the Year, Stylish Movie Star of the Year, Stylish Radio Personality of the Year, Best Individual Style, Fashion Blog of the Year, Fashion Photographer of the Year, Stylsih Sports Peronality and Stylish Business Executive.
To adjudge who wins what, there will be a selection panel who will form the Fashion Council to nominate choices in all the categories. The panel will include leading industry insiders including journalists, buyers and opinion formers.
According to the organisers, “The Glitz Style Awards will approach over 200 members of the fashion industry to vote for winners of this year’s accolades. The voting guests will include journalists, fashion bloggers, stylists, buyers, influencers and fashion icons.
“The final results will be 50 per cent public votes from the fashion congress, 10 per cent  from social media and 40 per cent from Awards Fashion Board.”
