Liverpool's Europa League squad revealed
Enrique is the only notable omission, with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Christian Benteke and Jordan Henderson all named
Liverpool have named their squad for the Europa League group stage – and there is no place for Jose Enrique, report the Liverpool Echo.
The Spaniard, who has been frozen out at Anfield, is not among the 21-man list which was submitted to Uefa this week.
He is the only notable omission, with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Christian Benteke and Jordan Henderson all named. Daniel Sturridge, who is edging closer to a return to full training, is also on the list.
Jordon Ibe is not on the list, but will still be eligible for the group stage as he is on the Reds’ B-list.
Under Uefa rules, a player can be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 1994 and has been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years since his 15th birthday by the time he is registered with UEFA.
Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption. Each club is entitled to register an unlimited number of players on List B during the season.
Liverpool have been drawn in Group B of this season’s Europa League, alongside Bordeaux, Rubin Kazan and FC Sion. They will kick off their campaign away to Bordeaux on Thursday 17 September.
Full squad: Mignolet, Bogdan, Clyne, Gomez, Toure, Lovren, Moreno, Sakho, Skrtel, Lucas, Henderson, Milner, Can, Allen, Coutinho, Lallana, Firmino, Origi, Ings, Sturridge, Benteke .
