BBnZ and Tigo make history as B.A.R. Concert

The B.A.R. concert, staged in Accra from the dusk of last Saturday to the dawn of Sunday, was literally a historic testimony that the hip hop genre is a major force to reckon with and has a huge following in Ghana.
The concert, staged by events and artiste management company, BBnZ, with Tigo as title sponsor, assembled the biggest gathering of hip hop lovers in the country to the World Trade Centre, venue for the gig, with a huge crowd outside the auditorium apparently unable to enter because it was filled to capacity.
From stage design to sound quality, security and protocol arrangement to the array of artistes for the night, everything was simply on point and the DJ, Mic Smith, was at his usual best.
The audience waited patiently for about four hours before the headline act, E.L, hit the stage to cap the performances from some of Ghana’s finest artistes including Trigmatic, Kwaw ‘Abodam’ Kesse, FOKN Bois (Wanlov The Kubolor and Mensa), Dee Money, VVIP (Reggie Rockstone, Zeal and Prodigal), Gemini, Lil Shaker, Pappy Kojo, Stargo, Tempo and the Papa Camp, and several others including a tall list of rising artistes.
It was a question of which artiste was not there, rather than which artiste was there.
