Ghanaian Isis recruit tried to convert me – Friend
A friend of the Ghanaian who is believed to have joined Isis has revealed that Nazir Nortei Alema tried to convince him to join the group too.
According to the friend whose name has been withheld for security reasons, the 25-year-old sent him audios and videos of the group in his bid to convert him.
Nazir Nortei Alema, a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has thrown his family into a massive discomfort, as he is believed to have joined the bloodthirsty group in Iraq and Syria.
With a degree in Geography and Rural Development, he is one of the 10 suspected Muslim youth from Ghana who have finally taken the decision to join the terrorist grouping, whose stock-in-trade is public beheading of their opponents or those they regard as infidels.
Speaking to Kojo Yankson on Accra-based Joy FM on Wednesday, his crony intimated that Nortei Alema’s brains have been washed completely by the Isis.
“I started engaging him on Facebook and later we began talking. I told him to tell me about what he knows about Isis since he kept posting things and promoting their agenda on social media. Later on, we began talking and he started sending me books and videos about the militant group in an attempt to convert me.
“From our interaction, I realised that he had many things going wrong with his understanding of the Quran. He was always quoting the Quran out of context and you could realise that he has been massively brainwashed by the group,” he said.
