Okyeame takes Versatile Show to South Africa
Having staged his Versatile show and OK Stripped concert, hiplife artiste, Okyeame Kwame, is set to treat his South African fans to good Ghanaian music and performances when he headlines this year’s GhanaFEST scheduled for Sunday, October 4, in Magnolia Dell Park, Pretoria.
The event is also expected to provide the Woso artiste a platform to project Ghanaian music as well as establish networks that will help in building his brand.
Mavis Anim, an executive member of Maymay Productions, organisers of GhanaFEST, in a statement said Okyeame Kwame was selected because of his dedication to his music and his creativity through his Versatile Show.
The Versatile Show is a mix of music, magic, comedy, dance, drama and poetry presentation written by Okyeame Kwame. The current edition of the Versatile Show delves into the issue of begging.
While some do it outright on the streets, others go about it in a veiled way and sometimes do not even realise that they are beggars.
The story is told through the eyes of a prostitute, a pimp, a pastor, a police officer, a politician and a professor.
The first edition of GhanaFEST was held in 2011 with assistance from the Ghana High Commission and the Ghanaian community in South Africa. Since then, the show has hosted many Ghanaian artistes with the aim of providing quality entertainment to its patrons.
This year’s event which is themed, “Taste Ghana and See’’ is expected to attract millions of people from across the continent.
