Mahama's gunman is mentally sick – Psychiatrist
A psychiatrist with the University of Ghana Dr. Samuel Ohene has stated that the 36-year-old man who has been convicted for possessing a fully loaded gun at the church of President John Mahama is mentally unstable.
According to him, although he has not reviewed the medical condition of the convict, his thought pattern exposes his deficiencies.
“It’s very obvious straight from the beginning that this guy is mentally ill. If the reports that I have heard and read in the media is anything to go by, then I can stick out my neck that this man is not well, I have no doubts at all,” Dr. Ohene told Kafui Dey on the Morning Starr Wednesday.
Earlier, Antwi’s mother also told the media that her son is mentally challenged. An Accra Circuit Court presided over by Francis Obiri Tuesday slapped Charles Antwi with a 10-year jail term within 48 hours after his arrest.
Antwi confessed to a plot to assassinate the President and his family at the Ringway Gospel Centre branch of the Assemblies of God Church in Accra this past Sunday.
He said his intention is to save Ghanaians from the erratic power supply and the harsh economc conditions.
