Mahama's gunman gets 10years sentence
An Accra circuit court has slapped a 10-year jail term on the man who was arrested for possessing a gun at the church of President John Mahama last Sunday.
The court passed the judgment after Charles Antwi, 36, confessed to a plot to assassinate the President and his family.
He also told the court that he purchased the gun he intended to use for his crime from a Burkinabe in the Brong Ahafo region.
The court, presided over by Justice Francis Obiri, ruled that the convict was sane and capable of carrying out the attack.
He had no legal representation.
