Kessben Group supports Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations
The Kessben Group of Companies joined in various celebrations in Kumasi on Saturday, 18 July, to mark Eid-Ul-Fitr.
Kessben Television organised refreshments and gave food donations to over 2,000 worshippers who had gathered at Suame mosque grounds for prayers to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
The Imam in charge of the mosque, Sheikh Imam Abdul Muimin Harun II, said: “We are very grateful to Kessben Television for gracing our Eid celebrations. No one has come to organise such a programme for us before, so we are very thankful. I pray for Allah’s blessings on the entire Kessben Group of Companies and its managers”.
Kessben Television distributed bags containing pastries, soft drinks, cooked noodles and uncooked rice to those attending the Eid prayers. Indomie supplied and cooked the noodles, while various individuals and well-wishers donated other foodstuffs.
Reaching out
Kessben Group of Companies Head of Events and Promotions, Ophelia Adjei, said: “The event was a chance to reach out to the less fortunate in the Muslim community during their festive season. Although not all those we served were needy, we wanted everyone to enjoy Eid in the same way.
“We thank all our supporters and those who donated in cash and in kind – especially Indomie – to make the event a success. We also appreciate the way the Muslim community and their leaders at Suame embraced us and welcomed us to celebrate with them.”
Kessben Group of Companies was also among the sponsors of the Eid ‘gangara’ celebrations in Kumasi, which included a procession of chiefs from the Zongo communities. The procession went from Asawase through Manhyia to Rex Cinema in Aboabo, Kumasi.
The gangara is a special celebration performed after Eid-Ul-Fitr morning prayers. During the celebration recognised chiefs of the recognized ethnic groups in the Zongo communities mount horses and go on processions in the streets with their subjects.
