Wa residents show support for Nyantakyi

Some residents of Wa in the Upper West region of Ghana have organised a march in support of the bid of incumbent Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
Kwesi Nyantakyi will contest the GFA presidency seat again, come August 17, 2015 as the date for the Association’s presidential election. The venue for the election is Tamale.
Mr Nyantakyi who has been in office for two terms is seeking a third term but is facing criticism and bad press concerning his administration style.
The Kwesi Nyantakyi-led administration has been faced with a wide range of controversies – the biggest being the Black Stars 2014 World Cup debacle which saw $3 million flown out of the country to pay players appearance fees. Mr Nyantakyi
However, some youth from the GFA president’s home region have come out in their numbers to show their support for their ‘son’ in the GFA elections.
The crowd had placards and banners with inscriptions – “Free Nyantakyi Now, Remove Nyantakyi and Forget Wa”;  “Stop harassing our son or forget 2016, Nyantakyi means a lot to us… etc.”
