Fabrice Muamba graduates with BA in Sports Journalism

Former Bolton Wanderers player Fabrice Muamba celebrated his graduation at a ceremony held at Staffordshire University.
The 27-year-old, who suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch while playing for the White’s in 2012, gained a BA (Hons) at the university in Sports Journalism.
Muamba took a two year course in professional sports writing and broadcasting.
Photographs were shared on social media of Muamba dressed in a traditional cap and gown accompanied by his proud wife Shauna.
She told the M.E.N: “I am elated for Fabrice. I don’t think it could have gone to a more well deserving person. I am extremely proud of him, especially after what happened to him and what he has been through.”
She said at times it was a struggle juggling family life with his studies, but his journey was like “any other mature student’s who has a family and kids.”
The ex-footballer also received praise from his tutors who said he worked “very hard”. Muamba, who also played for Arsenal and Birmingham City, is now working for the Professional Footballers’ Association as an advisor.
