Ashanti inducts two new chiefs
The Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs has initiated two new chiefs as members at its first general meeting held in Kumasi on Wednesday.
The two new members are Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, Kumawuhene and Omanhene of the Kumawu Traditional Area, and Opagyakotwere Bonsra Afriyie II, Chief of Fomena and Omanhene of the Adansi Traditional Area.
They were inducted into office as members of the House by Justice Gibson Adzagli, the Supervising High Court Judge, at a ceremony. The two chiefs also swore the oath of secrecy before the House, presided over by Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, Mamponghene.
Barima Sarfo Tweneboa Kodua, who also becomes a member of the Judicial Committee of the House, was enstooled Omanhene of Kumawuman on October 30, 2014, as the 24th Omanhene of the Kumawu Traditional Area, and further swore the oath of allegiance to the Golden Stool on November 3, 2014.
His enstoolment was gazetted in the National Register of Chiefs by the National House of Chiefs on April 24, 2015. The Adansihene also swore the oath of allegiance to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, on February 24, 2015.
