Stephen Appiah expresses appreciation for support

Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has expressed appreciation to all who supported him in the organisation of the recent fundraising dinner and testimonial match.
Appiah, who together with Primeval Media, organised a fundraising dinner at the Banquet Hall, State House, to raise funds for his foundation and a Testimonial Match at the Accra Sports Stadium, said in a statement that the two events could not have been successful without the massive support of Ghanaians.
The statement said: “I was overwhelmed by the support received from Ghanaians before, during and after the two events.
High profile
“The presence of high profile personalities like sitting President John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana, two former presidents John Rawlings and John Kufour, Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Edward Doe-Adjaho, National Chief Imam, Sheick Osman Nuhu Sharabutu, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, Apostle General of Royal House Chapel and many others was an indication of massive nationwide support for me.”
Mr Appiah also expressed appreciation to individuals and corporate organisations that provided financial support for the organisation of the two events.
“But for the benevolence of some individuals and corporate organisations, I doubt if the level of success chalked would have been possible.”
Mr Appiah also sent his heartfelt appreciation to those in the football fraternity, including Samuel Eto’o Fils, Emmanuel Adebayor, George Boateng, Guisepe Colluci who despite their busy schedules were able to travel to Ghana to take part in the testimonial game.
He expressed appreciation to the media, for the huge publicity given to the two events.
The fundraising dinner and the testimonal match were sponsored by uniBank Ghana Limited, Tullow Oil, Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC), Puma, Vitamilk, TT Brothers, Special Ice Mineral Water, Tecno Phones and Ghana Gas Company.
