Africa welcomes first Facebook office in Johannesburg

Facebook has opened its first home office in Africa as it hopes to add to its current 120 million clients on the continent.
The new office in Johannesburg will concentrate on developing markets in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa, it says.
Around one in five individuals in Africa have web access, yet twofold that figure are required to have portable web associations by 2020.
Around 80% of the individuals who use Facebook in Africa access the site by cell telephone.
“This is one of the spots where our next billion clients are originating from,” Facebook’s VP for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Nicola Mendelsohn told Bloomberg news.
Facebook says it will likewise be hoping to support development in Senegal, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, Mozambique and Ethiopia as a major aspect of its expanded vicinity in Africa.
