Gov't 'willing’ to transport Old Fadama residents to home regions
Government has said it is willing to assist any resident of Old Fadama who wants to return to their home region.
The MP for Odododiodio and Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Nii Lante Vanderpuye said buses will be made available to transport anyone who wished to be relocated.

“Those who have willingly decided to go back; we are going to make transportation available to them. We are also going to make some little support (available) for them,” he revealed.
Over a thousand residents of Old Fadama in Accra, mostly migrants from the three regions of the north, have been displaced as a result of the demolition undertaken by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) in the area.
The residents who were living along the banks of the Odaw River and the Korle Lagoon had to be ejected to make way for the dredging of the two water bodies which have been choked with filth.
