Judicial Service workers call off strike

The Judicial Workers Staff Association of Ghana (JUSSAG), has called off their strike, which was declared on Tuesday, May 19, to demand payment of allowances and review of their working conditions.
Speaking at a news conference in Accra on Thursday, Alex Nartey, President of JUSSAG confirmed that the Ministry of Finance has released money to pay the outstanding allowances and urged its members to resume work on Friday, May 22.
He said JUSSAG would continue to collaborate with the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations to address other pressing issues.
Haruna Iddrisu, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, said apart from the payment of the allowances by government to JUSSAG, full discussion of their conditions of service would be carried out with stakeholders.
He said the Ministry would by June 30, come out with a draft document reflecting the conditions of service of JUSSAG to allow for further deliberations and final approval.
