Yfm presenter to face charges over rape claim
The YFM presenter who allegedly staged her own abduction and sexual assault will be charged with deceit of the public.
Ms Adaeze Onyinyechie will be charged together with Nelson William, 18, for allegedly conspiring with others to stage the incident.
The Graphic reports that when the case was called yesterday at the Kaneshie Magistrate Court, the prosecutor, Police Inspector Anin Darko, informed the court that the presenter was still admitted at the Police Hospital.
The court was unable to disclose the charges she is likely to face. The accused persons were however charged with ‘conspiracy’.
Inspector Darko prayed the court to adjourn the case to June, 10, 2015 by which time the presenter would have been discharged.
On April, 14, 2015 news about Ms Ada’s alleged abduction and sexual assault broke and pictures of the incident went viral on social media.
It was however later discovered that the incident was staged.
Police revealed that this is the fifth time the presenter had been kidnapped.
