Effiduase SHS student dies from cutlass wound
A second year student at the Effiduase Senior High School in the Ashanti region has died after being accidentally wounded by a cutlass during a hunting expedition.
Ebenezer Kusi bled to death on Monday after he was severely wounded by a machete he and his colleagues used.
The students went to the bush after they were ordered to weed as punishment for reporting late for school.
A distraught 50-year-old father of the deceased is at a loss as to why his son was subjected to weeding as punishment.
He believes the student’s term bill caters for keeping the school’s grass properly trimmed. He is also disputing the claim that his son was late for school, saying the boy left home after 6:30am.
He blamed the son’s death on the school authorities.
