Stonebwoy wins Artiste of the Year at 2015 VGMAs
Reggae and dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, Livingstone Etse Satekla, has been crowned Artiste of the Year at the 16th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
The artiste beat off stiff competition from Daddy Lumba, Guru, Edem, MzVee, Sarkodie, and Samini to win the award.
Apart from the Artiste of the Year award, Stonebwoy also walked away with two other awards – Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year and the Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year for his song Baafira.
For the Artiste of the Year award, the 27-year-old musician will received GHc10,000 cash and a Samsung Galaxy S6 device.
Rappers Sarkodie and Edem won three awards each on the night.
Sarkodie won Hiplife/Hip Hop Artiste of the Year, Best Collaboration and Vodafone Song of the Year while Edem won Afropop Song of the Year, Best Music Video and Album of the Year.
The awards, which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre Saturday night, witnessed exciting performances from Stonebwoy, Patoranking, Yemi Alade, Samini, Tinny, Tic Tac, No Tribe, Wiyaala and a host of others.
