Asokore Mampong: Over 200 people displaced after demolition exercise (Video)

Over 200 people at Adukrom in the Ashanti region of Ghana have been rendered homeless after a demolition exercise at their place of abode.

The demolition exercise was effected by a court order after months of warnings to the people who had built on the said land.

Kessben FM’s reporter, Osempakani Sampson reporting from the Adukrom noted that the chief of the Adukrom had apparently sold the land which the squatters had been living on to a private developer.

The chief had consistently been reminding the squatters to pack out from the land but all the warnings had been falling on deaf ears of the squatters.

The fed-up private developer eventually secured a court order and effected the demolition of all buildings and stores on the land on Thursday, 24 August 2023, leaving hundreds of the squatters homeless.
