Mahama must start preparing his handing-over note – Sir John suggests

Former General Secretary of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie has called on President John Dramani Mahama and his ministers to start compiling their handing-over notes ahead of elections in 2016.
According to the former NPP scribe, the signs on the wall show that NPP’s presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will win the elections in the 2016 crucial general elections.
According to him, the 61,836 ‘NO’ votes garnered by President Mahama during the NDC primaries on Saturday is a clear indication that the President John Mahama will lose next year’s election.
“If Mahama is listening to me now he must prepare himself now to handover because the eight years is enough for him and the NDC” Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie said.
Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie who is affectionately called “Sir John” was speaking Monday on Adom FM’s Evening News.
President Mahama secured 1,199 118 ‘YES’ votes representing 95.10 percent from party members in the presidential primaries held on Saturday.
Out of a total of 1,286,728 party members who cast their votes, 61,836 voted ‘NO’ to retain President Mahama’s candidature in 2016. The results were from 265 out of 275 constituencies.
The NO votes represented 4.90 percent of total valid votes cast. Whiles the party recorded rejected ballots of 25,774, representing 2%.
But Sir John believes that those ‘NO’ votes is a clear indications that delegates within the ruling party are tired of Mahama’s presidency, adding that it’s time for change to enable the NPP to lead the country once again.
He also debunked claims by National Organizer of the NDC Kofi Adams and the party’s Director of Elections, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo that those who voted ‘NO’ against the president were members of the opposition New Patriotic Party.
Sir John also rejected suggestions by some NDC national executives that party members need more education on how to vote.
The NDC executives had suggested that the rejected ballots were votes for President Mahama that were done properly.
Sir John further commended NDC members who voted against President Mahama.
