Kwabre East assembly members lament govt's neglect

Assembly members at the Kwabre East district in the Ashanti Region have expressed serious concerns about challenges facing them in the district as the government has failed to assist them.
The District Assembly, as part of its aggressive push to fight rural poverty, has trained and set up 40 women in entrepreneurship. This was done in collaboration with the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) under the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI).
The beneficiaries, drawn from various deprived communities after having been taught recipes for pastries and bread, were supplied with the materials they needed to operate with. These included aluminium oven boxes, bags of flour, gallons of edible oil, margarine and seed capital.
The assembly memebers complained that government has not put all these efforts they have made into consideration and has not made any effort to assist with the issues facing the area.
