Ghanaian artistes nominated for Urban Music Awards

Three Ghanaian artistes, Fuse ODG, Atumpan and Sarkodie have been nominated in various categories for the 2014 Urban Music Awards, which are scheduled in London for Saturday, November 15.
Fuse ODG was nominated in three categories: Best African/Afro Beats Act and Best Collaboration for Dangerous Love, featuring Sean Paul. He is among the front-runners for the ultimate award of Best Male Artist.
Sarkodie and Atumpan received a single nomination each in the category of the Best African/Afro Beats Act. Other Africans nominated alongside the three Ghanaians in the category of Best African/Afro Beats Act are Wizkid and Burna Boy.
Nominations for the awards, in their 12th year, were announced by The European Urban Awards & the UMA Academy.
Music fans can select nominees in each of the 21 categories and decide the winners of the various categories by voting online.
Voting for the Urban Music Awards started online from Monday, 13 and will run until Monday, November 10 on www.urbanmusicawards.net.
The Urban Music Awards one are among the leading awards for R&B, Hip Hop, Soul and Dance Music. The Urban Music Awards ceremony is one of the only music awards show in the world to be held annually in the USA, UK, France, Caribbean, and Japan, with plans to expand to Asia, Dubai and Africa.
Past winners at the Urban Music Awards have included Beyonce, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Nas, Amy Winehouse, Leona Lewis, Adele, Goldie, Dizzee Rascal, Sean Paul, Beverley Knight, Lemar and Shakira.
