Gov’t has "spent all the money" – Nana AKufo-Addo

New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2016 presidential aspirant Nana Akufo-Addo has blamed the current economic crisis facing the country on corruption and mismanagement of the nation’s resources.
He said Ghana is endowed with enough resources to propel development but “our leaders have spent all the monies.”
The country has been hit with a number of corruption scandals within the past few months.
Mr Akufo-Addo, who was speaking to NPP delegates in the Ashanti Region ahead of the party’s upcoming October 18 Congress, listed some of the scandals that have riddled the current government, among them the Sports Ministry’s spending on Ghana’s participation at the 2014 World Cup Tournament in Brazil, revelations at the Judgment Debts Commission, misappropriation of funds at GYEEDA as well as findings by the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament in the three regions of the north where some districts have reportedly misused the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).
