The Dzamefe Commission will be hearing from all the players who went to Brazil and are currently in Ghana as they probe into circumstances that led to players’ revolt
The Ghana Black Stars will on Thursday appear before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry looking into the country’s abysmal campaign at the 2014 World Cup.
The players of the senior national football team are currently in Ghana to honour a return leg fixture against Guinea in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, Wednesday.
All the players who went to Brazil and are currently with the team in Tamale are scheduled to appear before the Justice Senyo Dzamefe Commission of Inquiry on Thursday to give their side of the story.
The team clashed with officials in the South American country over appearance fees ahead of their crucial final group game against Portugal. President John Dramani Mahama had to intervene by arranging for $3 million to be airlifted in cash to Brazil to settle the incensed players.
Sources close to the Commission have also revealed that the principal actors in the player-official fracas – Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari – alongside Michael Essien have also agreed to appear before the fact-finding Commission this week or the next.
Lawyers of the trio are meeting with the three-member probing body on Tuesday to fix a suitable date for the three players.
The Commission will also hear from a management committee member of the Black Stars, Moses Armah Parker, who was at the centre of the scuffle with Muntari. The welfare officer of the team, Sabahn Quaye will also make his appearance Thursday.
