Livestock dealers who were looking forward to taking advantage of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha festivities to make brisk business have been greatly disappointed because of low sales recorded.
Asawasi in Kumasi, considered a major livestock trading hub, was not its usual self during the Muslim festival. Even though the goats and rams in particular were available in their numbers, they could not attract the needed patronage because of their high price tags.
Traders who shared their thoughts attributed it to low advertisement given to the livestock industry, while some said there is no money in the system.
