Ghana’s leading clubs Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak have agreed to revive their rivalry as part of preparations towards the 2014/15 football season with a mouth-watering ‘Super 2’ clash beginning next week, sources reveal.
The two rivals have sealed an agreement to play each other in a two-legged affair in Kumasi and Accra respectively.
Asante Kotoko are set to host the first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium on Monday, October 6, a public holiday with the return encounter at the Accra Stadium the following Sunday, October 12.
“The two clubs have amicably decided to test their preparations for the new season by playing each other in two friendly games,” a representative of one of the clubs revealed shortly after sealing the agreement.
“Kotoko will host the first leg next Monday and the second leg will be on that weekend.”
Gate fees for the two promising encounters will be announced in a joint statement by the two clubs.
