The Ghana Football Association is in the process of screening applicants for the vacant Black Stars job following the dismissal of Kwesi Appiah almost a fortnight ago.
No local coach applied for the vacant job, with as many as 27 expatriates sending in their CVs.
The Ghana U20 womenโs team coach said the criteria served as a big disincentive for local coaches. โI donโt think those at the FA are running Ghana football with UEFA certificates,โ he told Kessben FM.
โI cannot go to Europe and coach there, even if I go, I will not get it.
“So then are we saying that doctors should have European certificates to be able to practice in Ghana?
โYou can ask the Finance Minister โ Seth Terkper โ whether he is holding a European accounting certificate to perform his work.
โYou can even ask the President whether he is running the country with European certification.
โOurs is CAF, they have their UEFA and when you go to Asia it is Asia license they have and so on.โ
