NHIS service providers threaten to withdraw services
The National Health Insurance Service Providers Association of Ghana are considering withdrawing their services over non-payment of claims.
Speaking to Kessben TV, sources say the National Health Insurance Authority is owing them since August 2013.
The manager of the Ashanti regional branch of the association, Mr Silvester Kankam Boateng, said the association is considering one of two things: withdrawing services or returning to cash and carry system where payment is made at the point of treatment.
He added that as most of their facilities are running on credit basis some of the members are folding up as their providers refuse to extend any additional credit and demand for payment of arrears.
