Arsenal complete Danny Welbeck signing
Danny Welbeck has signed a lucrative three-year deal with Arsenal.
The energetic striker will could make his Gunners debut against Manchester City after the conclusion of the international break.
He will also be eligible for Arsenal’s 17th successive Champions League campaign, and could be integral if they are to advance to the last 16.
Welbeck’s United career was on a downward trajectory since his breakthrough season in 2011/2012.
The youngster scored nine-goals in 23 Premier League starts under Sir Alex Ferguson, and was considered one of England’s brightest talents.
However, the 23-year-old’s been consistently overlooked as a first-team regular since the arrival of Dutch international Robin Van Persie – making just under half of his league appearances from the bench.
The forward constitutes Wenger’s fifth signing of the summer, others include Calum Chambers, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Alexis Sanchez.
