Universities to present Ebola plans by August 25

Government has given universities the go-ahead to re-open for the 2014/2015 academic year from August 27, but they must present their preparedness plans to government via the Education Ministry by August 25.
A statement issued in Accra today, signed by the Minister of Education (MoE), Professor Naana Opoku Agyeman, said the decision was taken following a meeting between the Inter-Ministerial Team (IMT) on Ebola and public and private tertiary institutions to assess their preparedness for a possible Ebola virus attack.
Government said it has shared educational materials electronically for the benefit of the management, staff and students with all heads and representatives of tertiary institutions who attended a meeting on August 18.
It said the government would continue to share further information to strengthen the partnership in the fight against a possible Ebola attack.
