Bass Awards 2014 rescheduled for December

Bass Awards, a scheme to reward African Reggae and Dancehall Music organisers, announced this week that this year’s edition of the awards has been rescheduled to December 2014.
Commenting on the new date for the awards, the Communications Director of Rackus Production, Mr Gabriel Boateng, said: “In line with our policy to make this year’s awards bigger and better it has become necessary to reschedule the event to December after consultation with our partners to ensure all the needed logistics and elements are in place.
“Also, we have to ensure the production team is fully prepared to execute what promises to be the biggest awards night ever in the history of Ghanaian entertainment.”
Mr Boateng revealed that this year’s awards will take the form of one-day festival. The event starts in the morning with performances by several of the nation’s budding and established artistes. This will be followed by more performances by A-list Ghanaian artistes.
The five voting categories are Reggae Artiste of the Year, Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Best Reggae Collaboration, Best Dancehall Collaboration and the Alternative Reggae Song of the Year.
Fans and music lovers can now start voting for their favourite musicians to stand a chance of winning in their nominated categories via the online voting platform at www.bassawards.net.
