Akufo-Addo tours Ashanti for nod

National Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo, has made a pit stop in the Ashanti Region to meet delegates ahead of the Super Congress on August 31.
Akufo-Addo appealed to delegates gathered at the Kumasi Cultural Centre to give him the mandate to lead the party to power in 2016.
The 2008 and 2012 contender called for unity within the party saying that the failings of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) will not guarantee the party a win in 2016.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia,  Akufo-Addo’s vice presidential running mate for the 2008 and 2012 elections, said the NDC is not economically inclined and should not be entrusted with the future and the welfare of the country. He added that the government had failed Ghanaians in spite of their “better Ghana” mantra.
