Ashanti Region NSS welcomes Youth Fund
The Ashanti Regional Director for (NSS) National Service Scheme, Mr Kwesi Quanoo, has welcomed the government’s GHc 10 million Youth Enterprise Fund (YES) and encouraged the youth to access the fund to establish their own businesses.
He indicated that not all graduates are employed at the former public sector and that research has showed that just 10 percent of the graduates get employed after school.
Mr Quanoo said the youth must be encouraged to set up their own businesses after school. Again he said, most students after the service keep applying for jobs every day, attend interviews and yet are not employed…”meanwhile these are people who can set up their own businesses”.
He added, that although the amount is not enough, he still believes it’s a step in the right direction, and it might increase with time.
Mr Quanoo advised the youth to take advantage of the Fund since its an opportunity for them.
