Princesses seek quarter-finals slot

Ghana’s U20 Women’s team are looking to secure a place in the quarter-finals as they meet Korea DPR in their second group match tonight at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Canada.
Both teams go into the match with wins from their first matches. 2006 champions, Korea DPR beat Finland 2-1 to move to lead the table, while Ghana follow in second place after a 1-0 win over host nation, Canada.
Bashir Hayford’s girls know a win over Korea DPR in Toronto would be a major boost after Ghana failed to go past the group stages in their last two appearances.
Coach Hayford said: “We already learnt our first lesson: in a World Cup, nothing will be easy. We suffered, but we won. I had said before the tournament that we had the potential to win the World Cup.”
