Kessben Director released on bail
Celebrations broke out in Kumasi in front of Aseda House, headquarters of the Kessben Group of Companies, as news spread that its Director Kwabena Kesse, also known as Kessben, had been granted bail by an Accra Court this morning.
Staff across the Kessben Group of Companies, who are predominantly based at Aseda House, and wellwishers covered themselves with powder and waved white handkerchiefs on receiving the news.
Mr Kesse had been denied bail by the judge at a court appearance on 31 July after being arrested on allegations of fraud and money laundering.
The presiding judge, Mr Francis Obiri, denied bail on the grounds that Mr Kesse was likely to interfere with police investigations.
Mr Kesse’s lawyer, Ohene Gyan Esq. said the court today had granted him bail of Ghc 350 million with four sureties, two of which must be landed property.
He is also to report to the police every Monday.
Mr Kesse has also surrendered his passport to the court registry.
The next court appearance has been set for October 20.
