Fuel price is govt's most sensitive decision – Dr Wereko Brobbey
The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) founding member, Dr Wereko Brobbey has said that protecting the price of fuel is the most sentitive decision any government can take.
According to him, the hardship Ghanaians are experiencing under the Mahama-led administration is now unbearable.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, outspoken “Tarzan” wondered why the “suffering” Ghanaian was paying higher utilities than the average American.
“The people of Ghana who earn way less than the minimum wage, pay more than the average American. How is that possible?
“…if international prices of fuel are going down, prices should go down here (in Ghana). The mechanisms set up are not working as they should. Why do we have to pay for the inefficiency of TOR, BOST, etc.” he lamented.
Transport operators announced a 15% increment in fares which takes effect from today, Monday, July 14.
The new fares announced Saturday, July 12, were reached after consultations between the Transport Ministry and transport operators represented by the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC).
