Arturo Vidal set for Man Utd move
Manchester United are on the verge of signing Arturo Vidal in a blockbuster cash plus payer deal, according to reports in Chile.
New United boss Louis Van Gaal is keen to bring the Chile star to the north west as he looks to shake things up at Old Trafford.
And now reports from the Chilean media suggest a deal has been struck for the 27-year-old, with United ready to offer £32m and Patrice Evra in order to get their man.
Vidal’s performances for his country at the World Cup caught the attention of a host of European clubs.
Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been linked with swoops for the player.
However, United appear to have jumped ahead of the pack.
Juve are keen to bring veteran Frenchman Evra to Turin this summer, and the player is also keen on a switch to Italy.
United are prepared to include Evra in the deal, despite trying the player to a new one-year deal earlier this summer. The Frenchman is likely to play second-fiddle to Luke Shaw, after the England man’s £27m move to Old Trafford last month.
Van Gaal has made strengthening the centre of midfield his No.1 priority this summer.
He has already authorised a £29m deal for Spaniard Ander Herrera, but he is on the lookout for another star name to provide competition for the likes of Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick.
Marouane Fellaini, who joined from Everton 12 months ago, is available for transfer after the Belgian failed to impress in his debut season at the club.
