Ayew's hat-trick boosts Ghana's confidence

Ghana international Jordan Pierre Ayew has scored a hat-trick against South Korea in Ghana’s final pre-World Cup friendly, giving Ghana a 4-0 win.
The win, in Miami in the United States, comes as a boost to the player’s confidence as he has been castigated in matches that he has played for the Black Stars.
The 22-year-old entered the game in the fourth minute for Majeed Waris, who suffered a leg injury.
Ayew told the Ghana Football Association website: ‘It’s fine we won, but we still have some work to do.
”South Korea attacked really well. Playing against players with good pace, you have to be cautious in the back. We made good use of the counter-attack chances we got.
“The score line didn’t matter to me. I am not looking at the score line, I am looking at how best I will prepare my team and how we played individually and as a team.
“If my team had lost by four goals it would maybe help me to look at the mistakes and correct them before the World Cup.”
The Olympic Marseilles striker who played on loan at Sochaux in the French Ligue 1 under former Ghana assistant coach and Afcon 2012 winning coach with Zambia had a great deal of playing time with the relegated Ligue 1 club.
Jordan Ayew becomes the third son of African football legend Abedi Ayew Pele to appear on the world’s biggest football stage after siblings Rahim and Dede Ayew featured in the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup.
The team now moves to Brazil for Monday’s World Cup opener against the “Stars and Stripes” (USA) on June 16 at 10pm Ghana time.
